Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
We are taking part in Run 50/50 to fundraise for Parkinson's UK.
As many of you know, this is a cause close to our hearts, Dad has been battling for many years now and mum faithfully caring for him the entire time. Parkinson's UK helps to support both patients and carers, please help us, help them, to continue their amazing work.
Neither of us are runners, this is actually a challenge for us both - Running is an asthma trigger for me so even a mile of running will push me, alongside being a working parent, time is also a sticking point. For Damian, although he is a fitness nerd, his spina bifida and achondroplastic stature make it more difficult - he is looking to push further to try for 2 miles per day.
We would like to aim high and try our best to raise £50 a day during the event. It's a REALLY big ask, and our biggest fundraising total yet. Please dig deep, every penny towards our goal is so appreciated.
Much love, Justine and Damian xx
There’s no cure for Parkinson’s. Yet.
I'm uniting with thousands of others to run 50 miles in 50 days with the aim of improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
My updates

15 out of 50
Saturday 15th Mar Has been a slightly tricky to run this week, with the weather getting colder, which affects my asthma and my motivation, but so many of you have given so generously this week, it really picks me up and spurs me to keep going. I have dabbled into the 2 mile territory this week, so legs are tired, but it means I've clocked a couple of extra miles ahead of impending bad weather and my set of four shifts which include 2 on-calls Share
7 down, 43 to go
Saturday 8th Mar So this week has been a learning curve, after virtually no running at all for about 16 years, it turns out my legs died on day two, died a second death on day three and resorted to walking, but after some intensive stretching, legs were fresher on day 4... One week in and I managed 1km without stopping! Share
All the gear, no idea
Saturday 1st Mar Day 1 : Early start as we're going out for the day, was really hard work 🥵 what have I signed up to?! ShareThank you to my sponsors
