Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK. 

My Sister in law Angie has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and I feel it would be good to do raise money in the hope that it will help her deal with all she is going through.  

Also My friend Doreen Higginson has been an Ambassador for Parkinson’s and helped them for many years until she retired from her roles… her husband suffered from Parkinson’s and possibly due to this she helped the Charity over the years … I dont know all of what she and her family went through looking after her husband but I am sure it took its toll. I do know that she was Chairman for Parkinson’s in her area and helped them in many ways . Sadly she is now very poorly and it would be nice to include her in our mentions - Doreen is also a Crystal Palace fan who even in her eighties would trundle up the stairs to her seat to support her team !  Doreen is a truly inspirational woman and I am so grateful for all the wonderful conversations we have had !!!
