Why am I Fundraising for Parkinson's UK? Hi everyone, for those of you who don't know, my name is Jane aka Granny B

I'm approaching my 80th birthday next month and am recovering from a total knee replacement - am now starting week 7.  Oh yes and I have Parkinson's.

My Dad had it too, late in life diagnosed when he was in his mid 80s.  Things have changed so much in that short time (he died in 2007 aged 90). Medication was a couple of pills 3 times a day, try and exercise and that was about it.  In order to get a diagnosis, I know my Mum had to make a nuisance of herself for 2 years at the surgery to get a 2nd opinion to confirm that he had Parkinson's!

How times have changed in 20 years!  

This Is why I'm walking...to continue the changes in order to get help to everyone in the UK with better coverage of the country and funding more nurse specialists who do such an important job for those of us with Parkinson’s.
