Run4PD - 50 miles in 50 days

Sunday 5th Apr
Myself and family are taking part in the Run 50/50, run 50 miles in 50 days, to help raise money for Parkinson’s disease.

Recently, our family has been deeply affected by the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in loved ones. What was once something we only vaguely understood has now become part of our everyday reality. We’ve seen firsthand the challenges it brings—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.

Parkinson’s is a complex and progressive condition that affects movement, independence, and quality of life. Simple tasks can become difficult, and the uncertainty of how the condition will progress can be overwhelming for both those diagnosed and the people around them. Watching family members navigate this journey has been a powerful reminder of how important support, research, and awareness truly are.

That’s why we’ve set a goal to raise £300 for a Parkinson’s charity. While it may seem like a modest amount, every contribution helps fund vital research, improve treatments, and provide support services for individuals and families facing this condition. It’s our way of turning something difficult into something positive—of showing solidarity, raising awareness, and contributing to a cause that now means so much to us.

This effort is also about hope. Hope for better treatments, hope for earlier diagnoses, and ultimately, hope for a cure. By coming together, even in small ways, we can make a meaningful difference.

We’re incredibly grateful for any support—whether that’s a donation, sharing our message, or simply taking the time to learn more about Parkinson’s disease. Together, we can help create a future where no family has to face this diagnosis alone.
