Parkinson’s disease touched my life in a deeply personal way — my gran lived with it for years. I watched a strong, vibrant woman face the daily challenges of this condition with resilience and grace. Her courage inspires me every day to do something meaningful in her name.

That’s why I’m raising funds for Parkinson’s UK, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s and funding ground-breaking research to find a cure. Every pound raised helps provide vital support for families like mine and brings us closer to a world without Parkinson’s.

If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, your donation will make a real difference. Together, let’s honour my gran’s memory and help others facing the same journey.

150 Miles Strong — And My First 100km Ride

Monday 28th Jul
Since my last update, I’ve racked up another 150 miles — all part of my training for the 50 mile ride on 31st August, raising vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.

This weekend was a big milestone: I completed my first 100km ride (that’s 62.5 miles)! The route had a bit of everything — rain, ferries, lochs, climbs, and sweeping descents.

I set off by cycling to Gourock, where I was treated to some lovely Scottish rain showers — just enough to keep things interesting! From there, I hopped on the ferry and cruised across the water before cycling around the scenic Gare Loch.

Then came the climb up Glen Fruin — a proper leg-burner — followed by a fast and flowing descent into Loch Lomond, with views that made every pedal stroke worth it.

Thanks again to everyone who’s donated! If you haven’t yet and would like to support Parkinson’s UK, your contribution means the world.

All weather training

Monday 14th Jul
One day it’s scorching, the next it’s all wind and rain - typical Scottish summer. 🌦️ Still, I’ve been pushing through and clocking up the miles. Another 77 miles since my last post, and I’m now down to around 4.2 minutes per mile!

Not exactly Tour de France numbers, but compared to where I started back in April, it feels like a massive win. The progress is real and so are the aching legs.

Training and thanks

Sunday 6th Jul

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s sponsored me so far for Parkinson’s UK 💙 Your support honestly means the world.

Today I smashed out 20 miles on the bike—and for the first time, I made it up that brutal hill without getting off to push! 🚵‍♂️💪 (Still can’t quite believe it… definite personal best!)

Every pedal stroke is for my gran and everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Feeling more motivated than ever thanks to you lovely lot. Cheers for keeping me going 🙏💚

Thank you to my sponsors
