Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in Move for Nurses to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.
This July, I will be moving 25 minutes a day to help fund 25 more Parkinson's nurses.
Right now, thousands of people with Parkinson’s lack access to the health and care professionals they urgently need. That's why the Parkinson's UK Nurse Appeal aims to fund at least 25 Parkinson’s nurses. Just 25 more nurses could give 7,500 more people access to specialist care.
Please sponsor me on this challenge to raise £135 which will fund a nurse for half a day.
My updates
Oh dear.... not quite going as planned
Thursday 23rd Jul So, you may have read that i slipped and pulled a leg muscle in week one? Unfortunately, I then spectacularly tripped and fell in week 2 and broke my ankle!! If that wasn't bad enough, I also crash landed on my arm so tgat ended up bruised and battered and my shoulder is VERY unhappy. So, any exercise is pretty much out of the question. BUT Leslie is battling on without me and is making sure he does at least 25 mins per day and I am going to go back to it in September when my ankle will, hopefully, have healed... Thanks for supporting us. It us such a great cause. Carol Share
Day 2 and already injured!
Thursday 2nd Jul The problem with being unfit and overweight is it is easy to get injured. While Leslie did all of his steps walking today, i decided to walk at lunchtime and then play Badminton at Puffins Club tonight.... Great idea but I slipped and ended up with my legs going in opposite directions like Bambi! Only a slight tweak but my right leg is not happy. Back to walking tomorrow!!
