Pedal Causeway Coast 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm taking part in Pedal Causeway Coast for Parkinson’s UK this June and would appreciate your support!

Please help by sponsoring my cycling challenge. All the money raised will go towards ground-breaking research and life-changing support for the Parkinson's community.

Parkinson's UK needs much more support in understanding the causes, researching cures and supporting those living with the condition.

My updates

Four weeks to go - and a trip down memory lane

Monday 1st Jun
I am back home this weekend for Mum's birthday and to make sure my "Irish bike" is in good working order for the challenge at the end of the month.  The attached photo is the bike outside the Harbour Bar in Portrush on an early Sunday morning ride.

This is the exact spot I finished my epic 4 day journey from Cheshire to Coleraine last April as part of my training programme for October's adventure across Botswana, Namibia and The Cape.

Mark and I are looking forward to heading to Ballycastle in less than four weeks to tackle the inaugural 100 mile Parkinson's UK Pedal Causeway Coast Challenge.

I have ridden all of the course before, but not on one ride so I know what to expect.  It is "undulating" (hilly) with almost 2000m of climbing.  It will be windy, the only question is which direction - will we get the headwind in the morning as we battle West along the coast, or will we get it in the afternoon as we are getting more tired and head inland over Binevenagh and then East back to the Glens of Antrim?  Or will it be a Northerly, acting as a crosswind almost all day until Mile 80 when we start to climb back across the Glens to finish in Ballycastle?

Whatever the weather (let's hope it is dry at least), Mark and I are looking forward to the challenge and raising funds for Parkinson's UK.  It is a charity very close to our hearts so thank you to everyone who is supporting us with your kind donatons.
