Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Our mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019. Behind the scenes, there are daily challenges and quiet struggles that most people never see, and the strength she shows in facing them is incredible.
But if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed, it’s her. She’s still the one holding us together, still the one cheering us on, still the heart of our family. Watching her face this with so much courage, even on the hardest days, is something we’ll never stop admiring.
So when she suggested we take on the Parkinson’s UK 100 Mile Challenge, it wasn’t really a question for us. This isn’t just about walking miles, it’s about showing her that she’s not facing this alone, and doing something to fight back against a condition that affects so many families like ours.
Over the next month, we’ll be walking 100 miles together. Every step is for her - for everything she’s been through, and everything she continues to face with such strength.
