Great North Run 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Next year (2027) I will be taking part in the Great North Run for one of the most important people in my life - my grandad.

Around 5 years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s , it changed everything for us as a family . It’s heartbreaking to see someone who you love and care about have to deal with something so cruel and life-changing  . Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect the Person who has it, it affects the whole family, and seeing what my Grandad goes through on a day to day basis has made me realise how much this disease can take away from someone. Growing up my grandad taught me most of the stuff I know, he’s ex police, prison service and served in the RAF. it’s heartbreaking to watch him suffer and struggle whilst there’s not much we can do for him. This is why I intended to do the Great North Run and raise as much money for them as possible, every donation will mean more to me than anything. Every mile I run will be for my grandad but I’m not just running this for my own good, but to make my grandad proud. I’m also doing it to raise money for a great charity who helped us more than words can explain. Thank you.
