Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Life has a habit of getting in the way, and I’ve left this a little late, but I’m hoping the generous people I know will rally behind me!
On 7 September 2025, I’ll be taking on the Great North Run, my first ever half-marathon (yes, totally out of my comfort zone!) to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.
I’m doing this for my best pal, Ingar, who is living with this debilitating disease. If I can push myself through even a fraction of the discomfort she faces on a regular basis, then every step will be worth it. Many of us also know friends and family who are affected by Parkinson’s, which makes this cause all the more meaningful.
All the money raised will go directly towards Parkinson’s UK nurses, who provide life-changing advice, support, and information for people living with the condition and their loved ones.
