Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.
Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.
My Mom is my inspiration for doing this walk - she was diagnosed at the age of 47 and sadly passed away 14 years ago aged 63. A fabulous lady who taught me strength, determination, courage, bravery, compassion and love.
This walk is also important to me as a recognition that 20 years ago I underwent emergency spinal surgery with a prognosis of maybe never being able to walk again and yet here we are completing this walk in memory of my Mom. It took 3 years of hard work to walk unaided and, as some of you will know, I still work hard today to keep this body of mine moving.
This is for you Mom for teaching me to never give up, be brave in the face adversity and to always strive to be the best version of me no matter what xx
