Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
In July, me and my Mum will be taking part in the Parkinson’s Walk in Bristol, raising money and awareness for a charity that has supported my family through some incredibly difficult years.
My wonderful stepdad has lived with Parkinson’s for over 30 years. Over time, we’ve watched this cruel disease slowly take so much from him, while he has continued to face every challenge with strength and courage. He is now permanently living in a nursing home, which has been heartbreaking for all of us.
Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed — it affects the whole family. I’ve seen firsthand the emotional toll it has taken on both my stepdad and my mum over the years. Through it all, this charity has been there with support, kindness, advice, and comfort when we’ve needed it most.
This walk means so much more to me than just crossing a finish line. I’m doing it for my stepdad, for my mum, and for every family living with Parkinson’s. I want to help raise awareness of this devastating condition and give back to a charity that has helped us feel less alone.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to me and my family. Thank you so much for your support.
