Being diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is something most people never imagine. PSP is a rare form of atypical parkinsonism, a devastating neurological condition that gradually takes away a person’s independence and quality of life.

My Late Grandfather was the father figure of our family. He was a strong, respected, and loving presence in our lives until he was diagnosed with PSP at the age of 74. From that moment on, we witnessed the gradual decline of someone who had always been our pillar of strength.

This run is dedicated to my grandfather and to every person living with Parkinson’s disease and related disorders around the world. It is a small act of hope and advocacy. A belief that one day better treatments, and ultimately a cure, will be found, allowing people with Parkinson’s to live fuller and better lives.

I believe that everyone, whether healthy or living with illness, deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, happiness, and independence, without having to rely entirely on others.
