Why Ruby is fundraising for Parkinson’s UK

Ruby and we are taking part in Walkies for Parkinson's to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to make sure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.

Thousands of us and our dogs are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.

Day 7 to Day 14

Friday 16th Oct
Update: 54 miles of 90 mile target- what a dog!

£812.00 raised so far of £900.00 target which is absolutely amazing and so many days still to go! Thank you so much if you were one of the wonderful people supporting us- we can’t thank you enough.

All of this walking is to raise money for Parkinson’s - we are particularly supporting early onset Parkinson’s.

The lovely human Ruby is supporting has been dealing with Parkinson’s since we think they were 18 although they have only recently got their diagnosis. The money supports community nursing and specialist support which will be so important to them. 

Day 6 to 9

Sunday 11th Oct
Last visit to the cafe at Hunmanby Gap for a 2 mile walk then back home. The first thing our Ruby did was find 2 footballs on the common then watch the ducks for a while.

Day 9 the walk took us to a Haunted House (The Heaton’s Pub- amazing decorations) Ruby was expecting her usual treats and welcome- she was definitely not sure about this guy!! She sniffed his feet - just not right at all

Day three

Saturday 3rd Oct
Started the day at the beach. The weather was glorious and the tide was going out so plenty of room for our dog to run. Andy managed to loose the frizzy in the sea- not the first time that has happened- hence him paddling! Finished with bacon butties and a sausage for Ruby. Will post more on Facebook.

We are off!
