Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

In late 2020 our wonderful Mum Barbara was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Barbara's sister Judy, who also had Parkinson's, sadly died in early 2025. 

The past 5 years have been challenging to say the least. As a family we are still climbing a mountain, learning to adapt and be as resilient as we can. We've had guides along the way who have offered a helping hand, comfort, and at times much welcome laughs. The Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre in Hull has been a wonder — I cannot overstate the gratefulness of our family for their care and understanding.

As 'Team Babs' we are walking as a family to help fund specialist Parkinson’s support to thousands more people like Barbara and Judy who urgently need the same level of care and understanding, in addition to their close family and friends who love and comfort them through thick and thin.
