Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!
I’m running for my Dad, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015 at the age of 56. Since then, he has also been diagnosed with vascular dementia. The impact these diseases have had on him and our family has been life-changing.
Watching my Dad lose his independence and increasingly rely on those around him has been incredibly difficult. The man who has always been our protector, my role model, and the person I turned to for advice is slowly being taken away by these diseases. Despite the challenges, his strength continues to inspire me every day. By taking on this half marathon, I hope to raise awareness and funds to support research, improve care, and help bring hope to families facing similar journeys. Every donation, no matter the amount, means so much and will help make a difference.
Thank you for supporting me and honouring my Dad through this challenge.
