Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Me and my boyfriend Will are taking part in a charity walk for Parkinson’s UK on the 18th of july, a charity that has become very close to our hearts since my grandad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a couple of years ago.

If you know me, then you know my grandad is one of the most important people in my life. He’s been there for us since we were newborns, always putting everyone else first, always the strong one, and always someone we could rely on no matter what. He was the type of man who never went to hospital in over 50 years, until after a couple of falls he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

Watching someone you love change because of this condition is heartbreaking. Parkinson’s has affected his confidence, independence, and everyday life in ways we never expected. But through it all, Parkinson’s UK has been there with support, advice, and help for both him and our family.

That’s why we wanted to do something that could hopefully help other families going through the same thing. Every donation, share, or bit of support means more than you know, not just to us, but to everyone living with Parkinson’s.
