Walk for Parkinson's: Dorset 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s nearly 10 years ago, whilst in my 30’s. I am one in just 1800 peeps in the UK aged under 50, living with the disease. This number WILL grow.

Parkinson’s is a progressive degenerative brain disease for which there is no cure.

What started as a hand tremor for me, proceeded to a myriad of symptoms that have changed my life. It affects motor and non- motor symptoms big time for me… and have contributed to the need to have two spinal surgeries within 18 months due to issues of poor gait and head dyskinesia.

So I’ll be shuffling the best I can to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.

Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.
