Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
On Sunday 21st September at 11am, Harry, William, our dog Lyla and I are walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it. The walk is 6.1 miles around Temple Newsham, Leeds.
My dad, who sadly passed away in 2012, had Parkinson’s and a lot of my life was watching him struggle and deteriorate, over many years, from this terrible, cruel illness, making him a mere shadow of the strong, supportive father that he was. My boys never got to meet their grandad, but I talk to them often about all the things my dad did. A very selfless man, often helping those less fortunate and also taking part in sponsored events, so this walk is for my dad, their grandad, Jack Waters, and everyone else who is dealing with Parkinson’s.
Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.
