Great North Run 2025

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 7 September 2025 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.

My grandfather, Mike, has been battling Parkinson's for several years now, and thanks to the medication made available by research and funding from charities like Parkinson's UK, we got to enjoy spending time with him at his best for many more years than we could have otherwise.

Unfortunately, now his disease has progressed to a more difficult stage. But, despite the effects of Parkinsonian dementia, he still remains positive and it's always a joy to visit and talk to him.

In his youth, Mike loved to run, completing the Glasgow marathon in under 3 hours. In his honour, I'll therefore be aiming to complete the Great North Run in under 1 hour 30 minutes.

Please consider donating to support my cause and Parkinson's UK, your support will help families like mine continue to enjoy time with their affected relatives thanks to research and medication and hopefully one day find a cure for this relentless disease.
