Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
As many of you know, in August last year we lost our beloved Grandad, ‘GD’. It has been absolutely devastating not having him here, he’s left a huge hole in our hearts and life just isn’t the same without him.
He had been suffering with Parkinson’s and it was becoming progressively worse. He hated it. It was awful watching him suffer with it and to see the devastating impact it was having on him, not just physically but emotionally as well.
GD was super fit. He played football well into his 50s (incredible!!) so what better way to continue his legacy by entering this crazy challenge to raise funds for Parkinson’s in his name.
Whilst I enjoy exercising, I really do not enjoy running! 25km is a huge challenge for me, I really don’t know how/if I’m going to get round! But I wanted to challenge myself, and fight hard, just as GD did right until the end.
So on 17th May, my brother and I will be taking part in the 2025 Jurassic Coast Challenge for Parkinson’s UK. We would really appreciate your support!
