Walk for Parkinson's: Scotland 2026

In memory of our Dad - Matt Headley ❤️

On Saturday 13th December 2025, our dad, Matt Headley, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family.
He had only celebrated his 70th birthday just 3 months prior.
Dad had fought Parkinson's disease since 2009, a disease that had quietly snuck in and robbed him of so much. We watched as the strong big bear of a man who cycled to work every day, ran loops around Strathclyde Country Park and was an active father and husband lost his mobility, balance, speech, cognitive awareness and ability to eat. He became a falls risk and needed 24hrs/7days a week care. We gave him everything we could but as the disease progressed, and he became bed bound, all we had left was to love him.

On 01/01/26, Matt's eldest grandson Robin, very keen to "raise some monies for sick people", raised a whopping *£1750* by participating in the Loony Dook at Queensferry with mum, Emma. This was donated fully to Parkinson's UK, and I'm sure pappy Matt was smiling proud from the stars.

We want to raise even more!! We want to do everything we can in supporting this charity to bring a difference to lives affected Parkinson's. We hope one day not far from now; a cure will be found! ❤️‍🩹

In Dad's memory, we hope you can spare anything you can, even a small donation adds up to a big difference!

We will carry on Dads strength of never giving up! 💪🏻💙🌌

Why we are fundraising for Parkinson's UK

We're walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.

Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.
