Team Big Wrig'

Walk for Parkinson's: Staffordshire 2026

💙Fundraising Update from Team Big Wrig’💙

Wow… we are absolutely blown away by your support!

Our original goal was to fund one full day of specialist Parkinson’s nursing care. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve already smashed that target (thank you so much 💙).

Because of this, we’re raising the bar and setting a new goal to make an even bigger impact.

Every pound raised helps fund vital, practical support for people living with Parkinson’s. For example:

£15 could pay for a Parkinson’s specialist to call someone after an appointment, offering reassurance and guidance
£18 could fund a follow-up call from a nurse after a medication change
£37 could contribute to research equipment used to study brain tissue
£82 could help cover a full day of helpline technology, ensuring support is always there when needed

No donation is too small, each one directly helps people living with Parkinson’s access the care and support they deserve.

If you’ve already donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you’re able to share our page too, we’d be so grateful as we push towards our new target.

Team Big Wrig' – Walking for Parkinson’s

We're walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care for the thousands of people who urgently need it.

On 6th June 2026, my family and I will be taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s, and we’ll be joined by our team mascot, Wrigley, our 8‑month‑old (and already 30kg) Labrador pup. Proudly named Team Big Wrig', we’re walking with purpose, hope, and a lot of dog hair.

Last year, my wonderful Dad, Gareth, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s after symptoms began taking his fine motor skills and the use of his hands and arms. Thanks to medication and support, he’s adapting well, but we know not every family has the same access to help when they need it most.

Parkinson’s has also touched my mum’s side of the family. Familial Parkinson’s took the lives of my Auntie Sybil and my great‑grandfather. So this cause isn’t just important to us; it’s personal.

By donating, you’ll help ensure more people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get the support, treatment, and specialist services they deserve.

Thank you so much for supporting us and cheering on Team Big Wrig'. Every step makes a difference. 💙🐾
