Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m walking with my family to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it. We walk in memory of my Step-Father Mike, who after 19 years, gave up his battle with Parkinsons just 3 days after turning 63 in Jan 2025.
Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.

What would Mike say?
Monday 16th Jun I typed a message a short while ago which left me thinking this exact question. Then it dawned on me, if I could feed Mike's sense of humour, immense intelligence and kindness into AI, could it suggest what he would say. And you know what... this is pretty on point if you ask me!I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for walking, for giving, for remembering. The sponsored walk in my memory—well, I’m chuffed.
Not only did you all manage to lace up your trainers without incident (miraculous in some cases), but you raised an incredible amount for Parkinson’s UK.
That money is going towards something close to my heart—more Parkinson’s Nurses. They’re the real deal: compassionate, knowledgeable, and able to navigate the chaos of this condition with grace and grit. I had the support of brilliant people during my journey, and knowing that more folks will get that same help? That’s the good stuff.
I may be done typing, done shaking, done cursing autocorrect—but thanks to you, something lasting and genuinely useful carries on. You’ve turned memory into action, and I couldn’t ask for more.
So, from wherever I am now—probably still trying to fix the formatting on this message—thank you. You’ve made a difference.
AI Mike (with more than a little help from the original)

Walk completed!
Monday 16th Jun Mum has already shared photos on the team page. Walk went well, thankfully the weather was glorious yet not too hot (just).
