Your next cycling challenge starts here
Take on an epic multi-day cycling challenge from Tynemouth to Edinburgh, and experience a stunning scenic route along the Northumberland coast before crossing into Scotland.
You’ll ride along coastal paths, quiet roads and rolling countryside, with support throughout the challenge and a great community of fellow riders. After your final day in the saddle, you’ll arrive in Edinburgh and celebrate your achievement with the group.
Registration closes in April 2027.

Day 1: Arrival to Tynemouth
Arrive in Tynemouth and check in to your hotel. In the evening, there will be a briefing where you’ll meet your fellow riders and hear more about the route, support and plans for the days ahead.
Parking can be arranged in Tynemouth for the duration of the challenge.
Day 2: Tynemouth to Alnwick
Your first day of cycling takes you away from the Tyne Estuary and through the coastal towns of Whitley Bay and Blyth, following traffic-free coastal paths and quiet roads.
You’ll ride through beautiful Northumberland countryside and along sections of the Northumberland Coast National Landscape before arriving at the overnight stop in Alnwick.

Day 3: Alnwick to Berwick upon Tweed
The day ends in Berwick-upon-Tweed, just a short distance from the Scottish border.

Day 4: Berwick upon Tweed to Edinburgh
From there, rolling hills and quiet country lanes take you towards Edinburgh for a memorable finish in the city, followed by a well-earned celebratory dinner.

Day 5: Depart Edinburgh
After a final breakfast with the group, it’s time to check out and begin your journey home.
An optional coach and bike transfer back to Newcastle is included, making it easier to return to the start point after completing the challenge.

You’ll be supported throughout the ride by professional rider guides, support vehicles and mechanical assistance. Daily route briefings and GPX files will also be provided to help you feel prepared for each stage.

Pay a registration fee when you sign up, then raise the minimum sponsorship for this option. We’ll cover the cost of your trip.

Single room supplement
Rooms are shared twin as standard. You can request your room partner if you signed up to the challenge with someone else.
If you would prefer your own room, you can request this when signing up. We will confirm the price closer to the event date, but it is expected to be £250 to £300. The single room supplement is not included in your registration fee or fundraising target, so you’ll need to pay this separately.
