Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK!!
This one means a lot to me as I’m doing it for my grandad, who lives with Parkinson’s, and for my nana, who’s basically a superhero in disguise (but with more tea and fewer capes). She’s his full-time carer and somehow still has the patience to deal with him and the rest of us. They’re both legends – and if they can face Parkinson’s every day with love and strength, then I can definitely wobble my way through a half marathon without crying (much).
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. There’s no cure yet, but with every donation we’re helping fund research, support patients and families, and bring hope to a community that deserves it.
A half marathon is nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those living with Parkinson’s and this is my way of standing with them. Please support if you can – every little helps, and I promise not to fake an injury halfway through. Probably.
