Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
This year, I’m taking on the Great North Run for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart. I’m running to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, a charity that supports people living with Parkinson’s disease and the families who love and care for them.
I’m running in memory of my Nanna, who we sadly lost in August 2023. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 20 years ago and lived with the condition for nearly two decades. During that time, Parkinson’s became part of our everyday life — not just for her, but for all of us who watched her face the challenges it brought with courage, resilience and grace. She was an amazing woman, and I’m so proud to be running in her memory.
Parkinson’s UK funds specialist Parkinson’s nurses who provide vital advice, support and information to people living with the condition. These nurses make a huge difference — helping people manage symptoms, navigate treatment options and feel less alone. By supporting my run, you’ll be helping ensure that more people and families get the care and support they need, when they need it most.
Every mile I run and every donation given is for my Nanna — and for everyone living with Parkinson’s today. Thank you so much for your support. ❤️
