London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Last year I ran my first half marathon in Bristol.

At the finish line I was quoted as saying things like:

“This is not for me.”

“One thing you won’t see is me doing this again.”

and

“-10/10 would never do again.”

So naturally, I’ve signed up for another one.

In April I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Parkinson’s UK. Much like last year, this decision may or may not have been made after a few too many beers.

Training is currently best described as behind schedule but technically happening. As someone who spends most of their life sitting in an edit suite staring at wildlife footage, I figured prying myself out of the chair and doing something mildly athletic might be good for both my posture and a very worthy cause.

Parkinson’s is a condition that affects around 153,000 people in the UK. Parkinson’s UK funds vital research into treatments and works to improve life for those living with the condition every day.

So while I may not enjoy the running part very much, it feels like a pretty good reason to do it anyway.

If you’d like to support the cause, any donation would be hugely appreciated.
