Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m taking part in Walkies for Parkinson's to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to make sure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.

Parkinsons is a hidden illness. More research is needed & more awareness required to understand the battle many people experience to live a quality of life that everyone deserves. 

Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.

Harley knows this route well now. There are big inflatable Halloween characters in front, hence we stop for a pic. Shame the caption space is a little too small. We have noticed a drop in temperature since we started at the beginning of October..time to be wrapping up. Another 2 miles completed. Rest day tomorrow xxx

Harley thinking "here we go again". Not a very exciting walk for him but we just wanted to achieve our 2 miles. I could have easily just called it off today having worked a really busy shift but as Ive learnt, exercise is the best therapy to slow down the progression of Parkinsons.. so we put our mind to it. The dark nights are certainly drawing in. Got home as the light was starting to fade. My little man and I added 💙 another 2 miles to our total 😘

Hubby joined us today on our 2 mile walk. Thankfully the weather held and only rained once back in doors. I feel so passionate about this cause, not because its happening to me, but I want all those affected to be given access to as much support needed to help maintain the best life possible.

Today was a boring walk for Harley. He wanted to go across to the Heath but I had other ideas. Some days have been harder than others. Having a neurological illness like Parkinsons, you learn to listen more to how you feel. Today, sadly, I wasn't feeling it so we just did enough to clock up our 2 miles a day target. Harley went bandana naked today. Tomorrow's another day xx

A sunny and blustery day. Harley enjoyed his normal routine of sniffing at every post and blade of grass. I took him to St Thomas Church, to show mum what we are up to and managed to get Harley to pose , showing off his Walkies for Parkinsons bandana. Its a good challenge and focus, keeping us both active and building on fun memories 😊 xx

Darren joined us for this walk. Being a postie the miles we walked would amount to just half his normal daily walk. 💪🤭
The walk along the canal at Withnell was so lovely. Autumn is certainly delivering the gorgeous golden brown colours which I now realise, throughout the years, I have took for granted.  
When diagnosed with a progressive neurological illness you come to appreciate so many things which before you wouldn't have given another thought to. 
Live the life you love. Love the life you  live . 
More awareness is needed, more support for specialists nurses in this field , this is what is helping me to keep going on those most difficult days .xx
