🏃‍♀️ My Great North Run for Parkinson’s UK

Hi everyone,

On Sunday, September 13th, I’m taking on the iconic Great North Run-a 13.1 mile half marathon from Newcastle to South Shields.

I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to tackle these miles for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart: Parkinson’s UK.

Why am I Running? For my Mum ❤️

My mum is currently living with Parkinson’s. Watching someone you love navigate the daily challenges, fatigue, and unpredictable nature of this progressive neurological condition is heartbreaking.

Finding the time and energy to train is tough, especially working shifts and it being peak summer madness 😵‍💫 Oh and don’t forget the heatwaves we’re having 🫠. There are some days where I feel exhausted before I even put on my trainers. Every time I feel like this I think of mum’s strength and that gets me out the door.

Where Your Money Goes: Making an Impact

Every single penny you donate goes directly to Parkinson’s UK. They are the UK’s leading charity working to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by the condition.

Here is exactly how your donations with be spent to support people like my mum:

£10 pays for a wealth of information materials to guide a newly diagnosed family.

£20 funds a full hour of care from a specialist Parkinson’s nurse.

£48 funds a clinical research project for 1 hour, bringing us closed to a cure.

£150 funds a specialist support line adviser for a whole day, providing an emergency lifeline.

EVERY LITTLE HELPS

I am aiming to finish the course in 2 hours 30 minutes. Knowing that I have your support and that we are actively  funding a future cure for my mum and thousands of others will help me dig deep and get me up the hill at mile 12 and across that finish line.
