Middle-aged woman makes another daft decision

Thank you for taking the time to check out this fundraising page!
I do this thing where I agree to stuff without thinking it through. My daughter said she was going to do the Great North Run on 7 September 2025 and I thought it would be nice to do it too!! She's 30+ years younger than me, plays competitive sport and trains 3-5 times a week. I do not do any of those things.
So, to build motivation, I thought I would try to help raise some money for Parkinson's UK.
My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and passed away on 24th March 2023. I want to do this in memory of him, and for all those whose lives are directly and indirectly affected by this complex condition.
I've done past challenges, but running is really not in my skill set. It has been a humbling experience to find out how slow I am compared to everyone else at ParkRun, and working out that a lot of people can run a whole marathon before I've done 13 miles!
Any support you can give would be much appreciated, whether it's words of encouragement or a little bit of sponsorship. All the money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK nurses, to provide much-needed advice, support and information for people who are living with the condition.
Thank you X

The run will be fine (maybe less so the day after - which won’t matter) 🤗
