Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 11 years ago.
Parkinson’s is a complex brain condition that has no cure and gets worse over time. It has more than 40 symptoms, from tremor and pain to anxiety. And Parkinson's is on the rise. Someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes in the UK today. By 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.
Parkinson’s UK is the charity that’s here to support every Parkinson’s journey, every step of the way. Wherever you’re from, whatever you need.
From searching for a cure and campaigning for better health and care, to funding research into groundbreaking new treatments and running life-changing support services. It’s all driven by one mission: improving life with Parkinson’s.

Where does the money raised go?
Thursday 26th MarYour fundraising will make a real
difference to the lives of people affected
by Parkinson's. Here’s an idea of what the
money you raise could do:
£75
would enable a Parkinson's
nurse-led clinic in the community
to run for half a day.
£150
would allow us to answer
15 calls on our helpline.
£1,000
would fund a cutting-edge
research project for a week.
£2,500
would mean we could provide
a nursing service for those
without local support for
2 weeks.
£500
would fund a Parkinson's
nurse for 25 hours.

Training so far…..
Thursday 26th Mar I’m into week 13 of training for the great west run. It’s been hard getting here, I can’t lie. My longest run so far is 7 miles and for me that is a huge achievement! I am feeling proud of my journey so far and slightly terrified of what’s to come! Watch this space :) ShareThank you to my sponsors
