TCS London Marathon 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

In April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon in aid of Parkinson’s UK.

It’s a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.

Over the past 8 years as a personal trainer, I’ve worked closely with some truly inspiring people living with Parkinson’s. It all started with Sally, diagnosed in her mid-40s, and since then I’ve been privileged to train and support several clients who show me every single day the power of resilience, determination, and most importantly movement.

I’ve seen first-hand how exercise can improve strength, balance, mobility, and confidence for people with Parkinson’s. It’s why I became one of the first trainers on the National Register of Parkinson’s Specialist Personal Trainers, and why I’m so passionate about raising both awareness and funds to support the amazing work Parkinson’s UK does.

But I’m not waiting until marathon day to make an impact.

To kick start my fundraising and to involve my clients from the very beginning, I’ll be completing a walking marathon… dressed as a giant brain!

On 15th October, I’ll walk 170 laps of the Basepoint Business Centre car park — the exact distance of 26.2 miles — with at least one of my clients with Parkinson’s walking alongside me at all times in a relay style. This event is all about visibility, awareness, and showing that together, we can keep moving forward, one step at a time.

By the time I get to the start line in London, I want to know that we’ve already made a huge difference — both in raising money for Parkinson’s UK and in celebrating the incredible people I’m lucky enough to work with.

Every donation, big or small, will help fund vital research, support services, and resources for those living with Parkinson’s.

If you can, please donate — and share this page so we can reach as many people as possible.

Let’s show the world the difference exercise, community, and determination can make.

Thank you for your support.

Car Park Marathon: Walking for Parkinson’s UK

Tuesday 26th Aug
Before I set foot on the start line of the London Marathon in April 2026, my journey begins much closer to home with a challenge that means just as much to me.

On 15th October, I’ll be taking on the Car Park Marathon at the Basepoint Business Centre in Exeter. That means 170 laps around the car park, adding up to the full 26.2 miles — all while dressed as a giant brain!

Why? Because this event is about more than just miles. It’s about visibility, awareness, and showing what’s possible when we come together.

Throughout the day, I won’t be walking alone. Two of my incredible clients, Tim and Dinah, will be attempting to join me for the entire marathon distance. On top of that, my other clients living with Parkinson’s will also be taking part, joining me in a relay-style effort to complete their section of the distance. Together, we’ll ensure that every step of the marathon is walked side by side.

For me, this challenge is the perfect way to kick start my fundraising for Parkinson’s UK. It allows my clients the very people who inspire me daily with their strength, resilience, and determination to be part of the journey from the very beginning.

The Car Park Marathon isn’t just a warm-up to the main event in London. It’s a celebration of movement, community, and the message that we can keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Every step we take together brings us closer to better treatments, more support, and ultimately, a cure for Parkinson’s.
