Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2027 in support of Parkinson’s UK. I’ll be running the marathon in May 2027 as part of Team Parkinson’s to help us all move towards a future without Parkinson’s.

This cause is very personal to me and my family. My Nan has been living with Parkinson’s for the past 10 years, and during that time we have seen the disease slowly deteriorate her health and independence. More recently, she has also been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, which has made everyday life even more challenging for both her and those caring for her.

In December, she suffered a serious fall which resulted in her needing a hip replacement, and since then her mobility has become severely restricted. She now requires a great deal of support from family members and carers on a daily basis.

I’m taking on this marathon not only to raise money, but also to raise awareness for a disease that affects so many people and families across the UK. Every donation will go directly to funding the incredible work carried out by Parkinson’s UK, helping to fund vital research, improve support services, and bring us closer to better treatments and hopefully one day a cure.

Please donate whatever you can, as every contribution no matter how small is hugely appreciated. Your support means a lot to me and my family.
