Brighton Marathon 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  In April 2026 I'll be running my first Marathon in  Brighton as part of Team Parkinson's to help us all reach a future without Parkinson's.

Please help me by sponsoring whatever you can towards my target. All money raised will go directly to funding Parkinson's UK.

About Parkinson's UK

We’re close to major breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments, we get closer to a cure every day.

Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Fighting for fair treatment and better services.

People with Parkinson’s, scientists and supporters, fundraisers and families, carers and clinicians, all working side by side. Impatient for change, we’re taking a stand, speaking out, chipping in, and playing our part.

Brighton Marathon 2026

Monday 13th Apr
I did it! Walking downstairs has certainly come at a cost though! A massive thank you to everyone who donated, and to those who came out to support on the day - it kept me going when things got tough! Till the next one, Tom 💙

‘Twas the night before!

Hi all, Just wanted to say one final thank you for all of your donations, it is massively appreciated and will definitely spur me on till the end! In case you wanted to track my progress tomorrow if you download the Brighton marathon app and type my bib number (17654) in you should hopefully see some progress from 10 onwards. See you on the other side! Tom

1 Week to go!

Sunday 5th Apr

Hi all, I hope you are well.

Since my last update, training has gone well. I completed my longest run of the training block at around 33km, although it did come just before four days of skiing… so we’ll see whether that comes back to bite me in the bum!

I’m choosing to count that as a form of altitude training, even if it did involve gorging on pastries and baguette... let’s call it early carb loading!

With just one week of training left, the schedule is fairly light now to keep the legs fresh for the big day.

Thank you all once again for your donations — I really appreciate the support. I’ll be sure to upload some photos from the day once I make it over the finish line!

5 Week's out

Thursday 5th Mar
Hi all,
I hope you are well.
Winter has passed and training hasn't felt like such a chore as the weather seems to be improving... I won't hold my breath nor do I hope I've jinxed things! Anyway, amongst 'busy season' as we auditors call it I've managed to keep up with the marathon training. I did my longest mileage week last week (w/c 23rd) which included my longest run ever (~25km)... still a fairway off the marathon distance but we'll get there!
Thank you all once again for your donations - they are much appreciated.
Until my next update,
Tom
