Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in Endure 24 Leeds in 2025 for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!

In 2017, my father-in-law was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's.

Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and progressive condition that affects movement. It occurs when nerve cells in the brain, which produce dopamine, gradually die off. This leads to symptoms like tremors, rigidity, slowness of movement, and balance problems. While the exact cause is still unknown, the impact on the individual and their loved ones is profound.

What struck me most was how Parkinson’s affects not just the body but the mind. The emotional and mental toll can be just as significant, creating challenges not only for the person diagnosed but also for their family.

Tony is loved by us all. His grandkids adore him. He's still Pops. He's still an amazing dad that would drop everything to help. He's still a pain in the bum that mutters and uses way too much kitchen roll! But he's our stubborn pain in the bum that is taking this disease on and smashing it.

Please help by sponsoring my challenge. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.

Thank you to my sponsors
