Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
As you may be aware I am taking part in the Hackney Half Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!
In 2005, at the age of only 55, my father in law was diagnosed with Parkinsons. It has been incredibly sad for all his family to watch the impact Parkinsons has on everyday life however his quality of life has undoubtably been maintained and improved through the pioneering research and development of treatments supported by Parkinsons UK.
He is fortunate to have undergone Deep Brain Stimulation surgical treatment which, whilst not a cure, in combination with medication has helped him manage his condition for the past 20 years.
More recently my wife joined the Parkinson's UK team as Senior Care Advisor, offering support to members of the public who often feel overwhelmed or lost in the social and health care system.
I'm incredibly proud of the work she and the countless others who work at Parkinson's UK do on a daily basis and appreciate any support you can give through a donation.
All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
