Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
LONDON MARATHON 2027 — FOR DAD ❤️
I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be running the London Marathon 2027 for the second time — and this time, I’ll be running for a cause that is even closer to my heart: @parkinsonsuk 💙
The first time I ran the London Marathon was back in 2017, alongside my brother, raising money for a cause very close to our hearts — @st.raphs Hospice, who cared for our Nan and Grandad. Together, we raised an incredible £3,500.
This time, it’s personal in a whole different way. ❤️
As many of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a couple of years ago.
He’s still Dad, Gaga, or Big A, as many of you know him — he’s just got “Parky” (his shaky hand) along for the ride, as my daughter calls it. 😂❤️
Since his diagnosis, Team Ludlow have taken on countless races, challenges and events to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s. And Dad continues to inspire us all.
Exercise is one of the most important ways of helping manage Parkinson’s symptoms, and although Dad doesn’t necessarily exercise every single day, he certainly knows how to push himself! He continues to take on @brutalseries and @maverickrace races, sometimes on his own and sometimes alongside family, and he always shows up and smashes it. 💪
So, in 2027, I’m running the London Marathon for him. ❤️
My hope is to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson’s UK, while also helping to spread awareness of a condition that affects so many people and families.
