Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

A colleague at work, her daughter at 39 years old has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s  younger than me I can not begin to imagine what she is going through  what with mum being investigated for it as well, let’s fundraiser for this important charity! Although I can’t promise to do 100miles with my asthma and caring duties, I promise no will do my best! Thank you xx

106 miles in total! Walks and work!

Saturday 24th May
Separating the miles walked at work. I have walked 17 miles and work and 89 miles for Parkinson’s. Total of 106 miles. But I still plan to do 100 miles on top of miles walked at work so I have only 11 miles left to do. My hips and feet hurt. My right hip hurts so bad I can’t lay on it! But it’s all worth it right?!? Thank you all for your support! Xx

So when a guest comes to stay what do you make her do? Walk 7 miles! But we broke it up with a cider and I cooked her a filet steak after!! Xx

Walking mum to and from bingo and back again!!
Had to do lots of errands and walked as many as I could so I built up some miles!!

Breezy but lovely walking about topsham. My aunty and uncle are visiting.

Waked my little socks off today. Walk to and from mums. Absolutely shattered.

My miles over these days were work related! So I will aim to not include them in the final 100!

16th may two walks today

Saturday 17th May
O had two walks today. One around the garden house gardens. And then a walk along Exeter canal from mums. 6 miles in total

15th may

Saturday 17th May
I had to have a rest day. So tired and sore. Not had one since I began this x

14th may

Saturday 17th May
I walked to my mums and back post nights. Tired and hot! Along the river exe. Managed 8 miles 😱

13th may

Saturday 17th May
3 miles in the night shift! As previously said I will aim to do 100 mikes extra on top of work!

43 extra miles! Total 57!

Tuesday 13th May
So I e done a calculation. I’ve managed 43 miles on top of working life. Including work 57 miles so with 2 weeks and 2 days lefts of the month I am hoping to do 100! 
I am exhausted but proud. My hips ache. My feet ache. I’m tired! But I keep thinking of people with Parkinson’s who don’t have the luxury or walking this much because of their illness. I’ve met some lovely people, seen some lovey sights including beautiful flowers and a heron! Xx

12th May

Tuesday 13th May
Well I start night shifts tonight but I managed to a walk to an appointment and to the shops banking 4 miles pre night shift x

11th May

Tuesday 13th May
I did two walks today. I woke up early at my hotel as I was staying in Plymouth and walked around the Barbican and hoe etc. watching the start of the excitement for the half marathon! Glad I’m not running 🤣. Later on I went to the national trust place called Cotehele and walked around the garden etc. managed to miss the torrential rain when I was walking! Managed to bank 5 miles today

10th may

Tuesday 13th May
I had lots of chores to catch up on before driving to Plymouth to meet friends and god children from Cornwall for chitty chitty bang bang!! But I managed 3 miles in total walking around the Barbican etc

9th may

Monday 12th May
9th may sees me doing a day shift and walking 5 miles. But like I’ve said before I’m going to try and do a hundred extra!

8th May

Monday 12th May
Again I had a busy carers day, but managed to drop some things off to mums doctors on foot and then I joined an evening walk with Devon carers and banked 8 miles today! Feeling tired but proud!

7th May

Monday 12th May
I was working a day shift, but managed to do 4 miles at work. I am trying to do 100 miles on top of working walking miles! So will separate the two at some point….

6th may

Monday 12th May
6th of may sees me having a busy “carers day” with mum a hospital outpatient visit, collecting prescrtions etc. so I did as much as I could on food. And topped up with a walk along river exe and the quay. Banking another 6 miles. 

5th May

Monday 12th May
The 5th of may sees me post night shift, tired and grumpy, but I managed to get to Paignton (from Exeter) meet up with my friend and god daughter and bank in 4 miles. 🥰 the sun had kinda disappeared and was a bit windy and chilly by later afternoon! 

3rd+4th May

Sunday 11th May
Night shifts. I walked about 5 miles on my night shifts but will calculate my miles combined and extra. I plan to do 100 miles on top of What I already do. But I won’t lie. It will be tough. Xx

2nd may

Friday 2nd May
I have done lots of walking today. 3miles just over at Knightshayes in Tiverton before an appointment. And about 4miles this morning around town and joining mum on her community physio assessment! My legs are so sore as are my feet but I need to bank in some miles as working nights over the weekend x

5.85miles around Exeter canal. My feet hurt! What a hot day!
