Why We’re Walking for Parkinson’s UK 💙

Friday 7th Aug
Parkinson’s is a cause that is incredibly close to our family’s hearts.
Several members of our family have been affected by Parkinson’s over the years including my dad, uncle and late grandmother but more recently, it has become even more personal for us as my mum has been living with the condition.
Seeing someone you love experience Parkinson’s brings a very different understanding of the condition. It’s not just about the symptoms people see; it can affect so many aspects of everyday life, and it can be difficult for both the person living with Parkinson’s and the family around them.
That’s why Grace, Henry and I have decided to take on a 6.2-mile fundraising walk for Parkinson’s UK. For me, 6.2 miles should hopefully be manageable… I’m not making any promises on behalf of Grace and Henry! 😂👟
We’re walking in support of my mum and everyone else living with Parkinson’s, with the hope that our fundraising can help provide access to specialist care, support and services for people and families affected by the condition.
My mum has always been there for us, so this is just a small way of being there for her and helping raise awareness and support for a cause that means so much to our family.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to us and will help Parkinson’s UK continue providing vital support to those who need it.
