Right. This starts tomorrow… and it’s just dawning on me how disciplined I need to be to achieve this! A few minutes walking the dog in the morning won’t cut it - I need to make sure I’m dedicating some time to achieve this.
I am considering a large “challenge” walk to complete this towards the end of May, so watch this space!

Why am I doing this?

I’m not afraid to say it: my dad is my hero.

I feel incredibly lucky to have such a strong and positive role model in my life. His support and the values he’s instilled in me are things I’ll be forever grateful for.

He’s my hero simply because he’s brilliant. But what makes him even more extraordinary is how he faces life with Parkinson’s.

It’s been quite a few years since his diagnosis, and there have been many ups and downs along the way. He’s benefited greatly from the incredible research that’s gone into understanding and treating this condition. 

Terry Pratchett once referred to his Alzheimer’s diagnosis as the “greatest embuggrance” and that sentiment rings true here! It’s a rubbish disease and one that I would love to see improvements on how it can be managed.

I want the research to continue. I’m inspired by my dad every day, and while I know the advances to come may not change his path, I hope that by supporting this work, I can help make a difference for others in the future
