Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
It might not come as a surprise, but I love to run.
I love the rhythm, the freedom, and the peace. Running makes me feel strong and deeply grateful to be healthy and able to move.
But sometimes I run because I’m reminded, by my dad, that I won’t always be able to.
Next year, I’m taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at a very young age, and over the years, it’s gradually taken parts of him away. There’s currently no cure, and the toll on our family is immense.
Parkinson’s affects over 150,000 people in the UK. The money raised helps fund groundbreaking research, improve treatments, and support those living with the daily realities of this disease.
I know times are tough, and giving to charity can feel like a big ask but if you’re able to donate, it would mean so much to me, my mum, and especially my dad. Every step I take is for him.
Thank you so much for your support.
