I am running for my dad
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK in memory of my dad Malcolm Thompson.
Please help by sponsoring me whatever you can. To put into perspective, just £50 of my target could buy one at-home biosample kit for a participant in a clinical trial, helping researchers gather the information they need to find better treatments sooner.
If you are eligible for gift aid, an extra 25% also goes towards the charity at no extra cost to you.
Parkinson's UK is working towards a future where the disease can be slowed or even stop - while making sure people living with it right now have access to advice, support and specialist services.
No one should have to go through what my dad did or myself and his other loved ones who looked after him.
If anyone happens to be around on the big day I will be wearing red tulips in my hair which is the official flower for the disease (and possibly a red face to match!)
