Walk for Parkinson's: Bristol 2026

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.

Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.

Tuesday 7th Jul

Walk for Parkinson’s 2026 💙

Tuesday 7th Jul

Saturday was honestly one of those days I’ll carry with me for a long time.

When I first signed up for Walk for Parkinson’s, I thought, what have I got to lose? I wanted to do something positive with my family, support a charity that now means so much to us, and turn something painful into something purposeful.

My original fundraising target was £250.

Thanks to the kindness, generosity and support of so many people, we have now raised £1,784.

Overwhelmed doesn’t even come close.

For anyone who doesn’t know me, my name is Satvinder Singh Dubb. I’m 38, from Bristol, and I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s in 2025 at the age of 37. This was my first ever Walk for Parkinson’s.

The build-up to the day wasn’t easy. My back flared up badly at the start of the week, leaving me hunched over and in a lot of pain. On the day itself, I was running on just under four hours of sleep and had a migraine that wouldn’t shift, even after taking medication.

But we still showed up.

We made our way to Blaise Castle as a family, and from the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was incredible. The support, kindness and community spirit on the day reminded me why events like this matter so much.

The walk itself was more challenging than I expected, especially the first incline before we even reached mile one. There were moments where my back was stiff and painful, dystonia was kicking in, and my body was making sure I knew it wasn’t happy.

But I kept reminding myself why I was there.

For everyone who had sponsored us.
For Parkinson’s UK.
For those living with Parkinson’s who couldn’t be there.
For my wife, Nikki.
For my daughters.
For my future self.

I was carrying more than just the miles that day. I was carrying back pain, fatigue, symptoms, emotions and the reality of living with Parkinson’s.

But I was also carrying faith, family and hope.

That is what got me through.

Crossing the finish line wasn’t just about completing a five-mile walk. It felt like a statement. Parkinson’s may be part of my life now, but it does not get to take away my fight, my purpose or the example I want to set for my girls.

I’m incredibly proud that we completed the route in 1 hour and 43 minutes, especially as this was the first time I’ve ever done anything like this.

More than anything, I’m proud of my wife Nikki, who was beside me every step of the way. She supports me through the parts of Parkinson’s that most people don’t see, and her strength, patience and encouragement mean more than I can put into words.

Parkinson’s is not just a tremor. It affects sleep, movement, pain, mood, fatigue, confidence, medication, work, family life and your whole sense of self. That is why the work Parkinson’s UK does is so important — from support and information to specialist advice, research and helping people affected by Parkinson’s feel less alone.

To everyone who has donated, shared, messaged, encouraged us or supported us in any way: thank you.

Every donation matters. Every share matters. Every bit of support helps fund vital work for people living with Parkinson’s and their families.

Saturday was not just a charity walk.

It was awareness.
It was family.
It was community.
It was hope.
It was proof that even on the hardest days, we keep moving.

If you are able to donate or share our page, it would mean so much.

For my girls. For Nikki. For Parkinson’s UK. For everyone living with Parkinson’s.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💙

The morning has arrived 🚶🏽🚶🏽‍♀️

Saturday 4th Jul

The morning has arrived. 💙💛

My morning Simran is done 🙏🏽

The birds are singing, the sun rays are breaking through the curtains, and today we walk.

At 10 am, we take on the Walk for Parkinson’s 5-mile route at Blaise Castle as Fueled By Dopa.

I’ve been sat here this morning just taking it all in — the donations, the messages, the shares, the bib messages, the support from family, friends, colleagues, community, and people who simply wanted to help.

I honestly can’t thank everyone enough.

When I first signed up, my target was £250.

Then I pushed it to £500.

And somehow, through the kindness of so many people, my page has gone past £1,100.

As a team, Fueled By Dopa has raised over £1,680 against a £700 goal.

Overwhelmed doesn’t even cut it.

Today isn’t just about walking 5 miles.

It’s for my girls.

For Nikki.

For my family.

For everyone living with Parkinson’s.

And for the hope that one day Parkinson’s won’t take this much from anyone else.

Thank you to every single person who has donated, shared, messaged, sponsored us, checked in, supported quietly, or backed us from the sidelines.

Today, we walk with love, faith, hope, and purpose.

Fueled By Dopa. Built on faith. Powered by hope.

Progress update

Wednesday 17th Jun

Bit of a surreal one today… 😲🙊

Wednesday 17th Jun

I had a surprise phone call from Karen Safe, West Country Community Fundraiser and co-ordinator for Walk for Parkinson’s Bristol 2026.

She called to thank us for everything we’ve done so far with Fueled By Dopa and the support around the event.

Then she dropped this on me…

Team Fueled By Dopa is currently sitting 3rd on the fundraising leaderboard. 🥉💙

Honestly, I didn’t expect that.

We’re currently on £954 raised, sitting just behind 2nd place at £1,001.

That is all because of you lot.

Every donation, every share, every message, every bit of encouragement — it all adds up. And for our little family team to be up there on the leaderboard means more than I can properly put into words.

This walk isn’t just a nice day out for us.

It’s personal.

It’s Parkinson’s awareness.
It’s Young Onset Parkinson’s representation.
It’s family walking beside me.
It’s hope.
It’s research.
It’s community.
It’s Fueled By Dopa doing what it was built to do.

Now I’m thinking… if we’re 3rd now, and there’s still time left… could we push for 2nd? Maybe even higher? 🤔😂

Maybe that’s me being overly ambitious…

But then again, why not us?

Please, if you can, dig deep, donate, share the page, send it to someone who may support, or even just help spread the word.

From me, Nikki, Ayrabella and Gianna — thank you so much. Truly. 🧡💙

Team Target Smashed Again… So We’re Raising The Bar 💙

Wednesday 10th Jun

A huge, huge thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’m honestly so overwhelmed by the support shown so far. The messages, donations, shares, and kindness mean more than I can properly put into words.

Our Team Fueled By Dopa target has now been smashed for the third time — which only means one thing…

Let’s level it up once more. 💙

The Walk for Parkinson’s kit has arrived, the numbers are ready, and seeing all our names on them has made it feel very real now. Satvinder, Nikki, Ayrabella and little Gianna — we’ll all be doing this together as a family.

This walk isn’t just about raising money. It’s about awareness, hope, research, and standing up for every family affected by Parkinson’s.

Thank you again to everyone who has helped us get this far. We’re so grateful.

Now let’s keep going. Every donation, share, and bit of support helps.

Built on faith. Powered by hope.
Fueled By Dopa.

I’m asking for your help. Properly.

Saturday 30th May

I’m asking for your help. Properly.

Not just a like.
Not just a quick scroll.
Real support.

This year, I’m taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s to raise money for Parkinson’s UK — and this cause could not be more personal.

I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s at 37.

Since then, life has become a constant balancing act of symptoms, medication, fatigue, pain, training, family, work, appointments, research trials, and trying to stay strong for the people I love.

Some days I look okay.
That doesn’t mean this is easy.

Parkinson’s affects far more than movement. It affects your body, mind, confidence, sleep, independence, relationships, and the future you thought you were building.

But I’m not walking because I feel sorry for myself.

I’m walking because I believe in research.
I believe in awareness.
I believe in community.
I believe families like mine deserve better answers.
And I believe that with enough support, we can help change what Parkinson’s looks like for the next generation.

So please donate generously.

£5 helps.
£10 helps.
£20 helps.
A bigger donation, if you’re able, helps even more.

And if you can’t donate, please share this post. That still matters.

This is personal.
This is urgent.
This is hope in action.

TARGET SMASHED IN UNDER 24 HOURS. 🤯🧡

Monday 25th May

Honestly… thank you.

The love, support, donations, shares and messages have been unreal. What started as a fundraising goal has already turned into something even bigger — a real show of community, awareness and hope.

From me, Nikki, the girls and the whole Fueled By Dopa team — thank you so much. Every donation genuinely means the world.

But now that the original target has gone…

there’s only one thing left to do — LEVEL UP. 💪🏽🔥

We’re walking on Saturday 4th July for everyone affected by Parkinson’s — to raise awareness, support vital work, and keep pushing for better care, better treatments and more hope for the future.

So if you’ve been meaning to support, this is your sign 👇🏽
Please donate, share, or sign up to the cause yourself:

Movement is power. 🧡

This one is personal. 💙

Wednesday 20th May

This one is personal. 💙

In 2025, after years of symptoms, uncertainty, scans, appointments and trying to understand what was happening to my body, I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s.

Since then, life has changed in ways I’m still learning to explain.

Some days are strong.
Some days are frustrating.
Some days Parkinson’s reminds me it’s there before I’ve even got out of bed.

But I keep showing up — for myself, for my family, for my girls, and for everyone else trying to navigate life with this condition.

That’s why I’m taking part in Parkinson’s UK – Walk for Parkinson’s Bristol 2026.

This walk isn’t just about miles.
It’s about awareness.
It’s about support.
It’s about funding specialist care.
It’s about standing with everyone affected by Parkinson’s — those diagnosed, those caring, and those still trying to find answers.

So I’m asking properly:

Please donate if you can.
£5, £10, £20 — whatever you’re able to give genuinely makes a difference. And if you’re in a position to give more, please do. Every pound helps Parkinson’s UK continue supporting people and families who urgently need it.

And if donating isn’t possible, sharing the page is still powerful. Someone in your network may be able to support, donate, or even sign up themselves.

There are Walk for Parkinson’s events happening all over the UK, so get involved if this cause speaks to you. Walk for someone you love. Walk for someone you’ve lost. Walk for the people still fighting every single day.

I’ll be walking for my journey.
For my family.
For the Parkinson’s community.
And for a future with better care, better understanding, and one day — better answers.
