Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, a charity that supports people living with Parkinson’s and funds vital research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects around 145,000 people in the UK. It can impact movement, speech, sleep, mental health, and everyday independence, and it doesn’t just affect those diagnosed, but also their families and carers. Despite this, Parkinson’s is still widely misunderstood and currently has no cure.
Parkinson’s UK provides practical support to those living with the condition, campaigns for better care, and invests in groundbreaking research to improve quality of life and slow the progression of the disease.
