Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great South Run for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support.
My lovely Mum, Mary, was diagnosed with Parkinson's about 17 years ago at the age of 60. She's been an absolute trooper since her diagnosis, trying not to let the many horrible symptoms of this progressive neurological disease limit her enjoyment of life.
The severity of Mum's Parkinson's mean she can no longer live at home with my Dad and has been living in a care home for the past year.
She struggles with walking, caring for herself and has developed Parkinson's dementia - she's often confused and has hallucinations.
By running the Great South Run I hope to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's UK. Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, a fact many people are probably unaware of, so any support we can give will help support the growing Parkinson's community.
Please help by sponsoring my challenge. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
