Brighton Marathon 2026 For Parkinson’s UK
Wednesday 28th JanIn 12 April 2026, I’ll be running the Brighton Marathon to support and fundraise for Parkinson’s UK—a charity that means a great deal to my family.
My Grandpa, Mike, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in February 2014, and since then he has faced many challenges as the condition has progressed. My Grannie, Ann, has also had to adapt to becoming his carer; especially as his symptoms have worsened over time. Their strength, determination, and love for each other have been a huge inspiration to me.
I’ve looked forward for a long time to the opportunity to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK—not only to support their vital campaigns and services for people living with Parkinson’s, but also to help drive the research needed to transform treatment and one day find a cure.
About Parkinson’s
- Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition, meaning it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.
- Anyone can get Parkinson’s—young or old.
- Two people are diagnosed every hour in the UK.
- There are over 40 symptoms, and everyone’s experience is unique.
- There is currently no cure.
With your help, Parkinson’s UK can fund better care, accelerate research breakthroughs, and bring us closer to the day we finally stop Parkinson’s for good.
