I am running for my dad, Paul Higgins

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson's UK on Saturday 24 April and would really appreciate your support!

My dad, Paul Higgins, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2024. He's always been a huge part of our local community in Looe, Cornwall, running a holiday park there for over 30 years and playing cricket for most of his life. He's had a huge impact not only on the wider community but especially on me — particularly when it came to supporting all my sporting endeavours back when I was in my prime (somewhere between 12 and 15 years old). Seems only fair that, 17 years on from that peak, I repay him with a bit of personal suffering.

I've run a half marathon before but never a full one. Doing this for Dad, and for Parkinson's UK, gives me a pretty effective guilt trip to actually see it through. The diagnosis is scary, especially when you're not sure what it means. If my fundraising and running can go toward research and support for people living with Parkinson's and their families, I'll be delighted.

Every bit you can give gets me closer to my target and means a lot to me and my dad. Thank you for reading and for whatever you can spare.
