🏃♂️ Me? Running 13.1 Miles? Blame Parkinson’s UK…
That’s right — I’ve somehow signed myself up for the Great North Run (yes, that’s a half marathon) to raise money for Parkinson’s UK. And no, I haven’t lost a bet — I’m doing it willingly. Sort of.
Why? Because Parkinson’s is a relentless, progressive condition that affects over 150,000 people in the UK — and chances are, you know someone who’s been impacted by it. The least I can do is put one foot in front of the other for 13.1 miles and raise some money to help fund better treatments, support services, and one day (fingers crossed) a cure.
Let’s be clear: I’m not exactly Mo Farah. My training plan mostly involves running, complaining about running, and then limping. But I’m doing it anyway — because Parkinson’s doesn’t take a day off, so neither will I (until after the race, when I plan to lie down for a week).
💙 If you can spare a few quid, I’d love your support. It’ll help a brilliant cause, and also make all this Lycra-related humiliation worth it.
Cheers for reading — and wish my knees luck!
