I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK to support research
In April 2026 I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon with my lovely colleagues at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, to support the research funded by Parkinson's UK.
We would specifically like to raise awareness and funds to support the diagnosis and management of the Parkinson Plus Syndromes (PPS), which are the focus of my PhD. These are rare syndromes which share many features with typical Parkinson's Disease, but are more rapidly progressive and have no means of pharmacological treatment. Until we can acheive accurate diagnoses of Parkinson's Disease and the PPS through research, we can't succeed with the clinical trials which are so much needed.
I have been working with patients with the parkinsonism for nearly 4 years now and would love to help support the charities which help make this research happen.
